New-Born Care

Our paediatric care blends seamlessly with the birthing program to provide comprehensive care to the newborn. The delivery is attended by two paediatricians as per international norms. For normal deliveries, the newborn remains with the mother who is encouraged to start breast feeding within the first hour of life.

Cases in which maternal or neonatal complications are anticipated are discussed with the obstetricians, and the delivery time and method are optimized for best maternal and neonatal outcomes. A team of paediatricians and nurses provide 24×7 newborn care. For premature, low birth-weight and sick babies, care is provided in the advanced neonatal ICU that provides tertiary newborn care

Lactation Counselling

A team of educators provides support and advice regarding the various aspects of breast-feeding with the objective of ensuring exclusive breast-feeding for the first six months of life. Lactation advice is also covered in our Baby Care Workshop where we talk about how to manage the first year of a child’s life, when to begin weaning from breast milk and a lot more.

In-Patient Services

Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)

The NICU at Gangauri Hospital handles complications with babies born in-house along with tertiary-level referrals from the community.

Procedures include phototherapy, neonatal ventilation, surfactant therapy, pulse oximeter, ECG and non-invasive blood pressure monitoring.

We also have round-the-clock laboratory services that provide arterial blood gas analysis and other blood investigations at short notice.

Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU)

The PICU has been established to provide care for children of all ages (infancy to adolescence) for critical needs or emergencies. Children receive 1:1 nursing care with every effort made to ensure their comfort and well-being.

Paediatric Surgery & Post-Operative Support

The Paediatric department manages various congenital (birth defects) and surgical disorders of the new born and children.

Child Development Clinic

At the Child Development Clinic, we help your child tap into his/her full potential, so they can better utilize their abilities in all spheres of life. We counsel parents as well as children. Our areas of expertise include:
